Crazy Quilting March Block

Today I'm sharing my March block for the  CQ 2014 Challenge.  This block will be added to my   Lovely Ladies Sampler that will be put together at the end of the year. I have decided to alternate my blocks with colors and cream to give each block more pop. Hope it works out but as you well know the  best laid plans usually go awry. So I'm hoping, regardless  that it will be pretty:)

Spring Chicks

It looks like time got away from me again, and I have no excuse, well besides physical therapy and getting caught up with my regular swaps:) Sharing my latest "Spring Chicks" paper dolls for the Roses Group and meeting the Challenge of using Eggs some way on our dolls. Crazy and fun!

Meet Bella and Char! Our Swap challenge was to use eggs, egg shells or egg images in some creative way on our Chickie dolls. As you can see I used Eggs shells for their Easter Baskets and Dresses. Shells can give some really great texture and was fun. I used spray inks for color and let them dry, then I placed the newly colored shells between 2 pieces of wax paper and rolled them with a rolling pin. I used a brush to spread my glue on like paint and while wet I added the shells. After drying you can shake off any excess. They seem to have adhered very well with no problems.

CQ Project February 2014 "Lovely Ladies" Sampler

Sharing my February Crazy Quilt Block for my "Lovely Ladies Sampler" for 2014. This was originally a much smaller block with just a triangle center. I totally re-constructed it, removing elements and added more fabric so I could begin again. Why? You may think.  Well I loved the images and liked where I had began but needed it larger as I wanted to use it in this years Sampler. I started thinking I was going to create a Fabric book but after seeing a few I changed my mind as I feel that it will have a larger impact as a CQ Sampler. I'm really glad I switched gears as now I'm on my March CQ block and can see it will come together beautifully. It was actually more work to re-construct than it was to start from scratch but I didn't want two of  anything with the same image, made sense to me:)

Well as you can see this is what I do with my evening hours as in the daytime I create totally different types of Art, mixed media, paper clay projects, and fabric/paper projects along with my swap groups I participate in and one I host.  Tags, ATC's and Paper Dolls are a fun way to keep creative and expand your knowledge with techniques and new supplies/mediums.

"Cottage Paper Crafts" Wednesday's Blog Party "Paper Dolls"

 Today I'm joining Wednesday's Cottage Craft Party to share the love of creating with paper. Just one of the many things I love to do. These are a few that I have  created for swapping and thought it would be fun to re-visit them. I belong to Le Papier Dolls Swap Group over at Roses On My Table and these were done over the past year or two. Just another fun thing to do, and if you know me I like to have me some Fun! Grow Your Own Blog Party

Today I'm joining Vicki from  2 Bags Full for her 2nd Annual Blog Party. If you are wondering why there is a lapse in post for awhile a few months ago I had a bad fall and broke my ankle. Now that I'm starting to get on my feet more regular posting can be expected.

Above are a few things I love to create along with a year long project of making a Crazy Quilt Sampler which I usually work on during the evening while watching the TV.
