SINGER SEWING MACHINE FIRST VINTAGE BLACK FRIDAY POST

This is me as a child in 1946 and this is my vintage Singer Sewing machine that I made doll clothes on as a child. I loved to make clothes from scraps of fabric for my Storybook dolls, the ones in the Polka Dot boxes! Does anyone remember them? I spent many a summer day cranking that little wheel round and round while feeding the fabric under the foot to make my creations. My what fun I had. I still love to sew today and I'm sure glad that I don't have to hand crank out my sewing projects, what progress we have made in machines, I still have this machine and it is about 58 years old and sits in my sewing room as a great memory of childhood days gone by!

Hi Marilou...

Ohhh...I love your Christmas photo...it's gorgeous! I'm guessing that you received that sweet baby doll as a Christmas gift...not only do you have a sweet smile on your pretty face but your eyes are smiling as well!!!

I really enjoyed seeing your vintage Singer sewing machine! I could just visualize a young girl spending countless hours sewing her dolls pretty outfits! Ohh yes, and thank goodness for modern technology! Can you imagine sewing curtains, etc. on that hand cranked machine? Hehe! My Grandma was a very talented seamstress and she still used her old Singer treddle machine! I just stood in awe! I tried and tried to use that machine to no avail! I'm just not coordinated enough! Hehe! Anyway...thank you for sharing your lovely photo and fabulous vintage sewing machine with us today!!!

I also wanted to thank you for stopping by and taking a peek at my frenchy studio/office! I really enjoyed your sweet note, my friend! And...thank you so much for adding Happy To Design to your list of blog follows...I'm just tickled pink! I have also added your delightful blog to my list! I'm looking forward to your upcoming posts! I have already looked through several past posts...such a treat!

It's so very nice to meet you, Marylou!

Warmest wishes,
Chari @Happy To Design

Marilou, I'm not sure which I think is more precious the machine or the photo. The fact that it's you in the phot and your machine with the memories you've just shared makes this a wonderful post!

Hi Marilou,
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. It's always so nice to meet someone new.
I have a real affinity for anything related to sewing and/or sewing notions so I loved the little machine you pictured. I think it's great that you still have the sewing machine. I loved the Christmas photo too.
Also enjoyed your rooster post!
Have a great weekend.

Wow, that is neat, Marilou! How cool that you made doll clothes on it. I like your "Fairy" music, too.
Stopping by for VBF (a little late).
