Crazy Quilting for Relaxing

I love to curl up and do a little stitching especially this time of year! The weather is starting to cool off a little bit even though muggy and I sat down and finished this little coin purse for my SIL for part of her Christmas gift. She loves Scratchers and lottery tickets so I thought I would tuck a few in for fun and maybe a clutch bag to tuck it into. Did I mention she loves Cats, I had to include those. Until next time....

Yep It's Me Again Sharing A Little Fairy Love

So here we are and I was just bragging about a cool off, ha... Mother Nature taught me a lesson, don't trust her!! Lol Yesterday when it reached 100 degrees I tossed in the towel and decided Fall is not arriving this year and we will probably just slide into some cooler weather for ?? Christmas maybe. So be it, enough whining already. I'm Grateful we aren't in a rainy flood area or fire zone right now and must remember that:) Prayers for all that are:)
Here is the last of the "what I did this Summer projects" since I don't have a heck of a lot to show for it.
This is a mini Book created for a dear friend as a gift and was really fun to create. Size of this mini is 2 by 3 inches and about 3 inches thick with the front little Fairy door opening to hold some what..... fairy dust of course:)  I really wanted to add a clasp created from the wire that I used to attached the ribbon but my hands just aren't strong enough anymore so after several unsuccessful attempts I went to Plan B, we all need a plan B don'tch ya know... There are a few things I would have added or done differently but we always see what we can make better once we finish, at least I do:) I hope you enjoy the pics as I'm off to get a few more thing done before I run out of day........

Spinning My Wheels

Finally the weather officially cooled of today and I am thrilled. It has been a long hot summer and I have accomplished very little with the exception of completing a class over at Artful Gathering (pic's above") and making a gift for a friend (will show those  pics next time). My youngest Grandkids have returned to school and a big shout out"thank you" to all my Facebook friends for sending Richie postcards for his 5th grade class project!

Blogging has gone by the wayside it seems like everything else when Mother Nature acts up:) Here are a few pics of summer projects from where I left off in my last post, ha.. way back when.....finishing up with the Grands on their first day back to school:) Yep, here comes trouble I call the one in the center, lol

Dog Days of Summer

Lazy summer days and lots of heat in So. Ca. has definitely slowed me down however I have been taking a class over at Artful Gathering, "A Romantic Journey on Canvas" with the talented Debby Anderson. A great class with fun techniques used in artful ways. Now I have worked with all the products and techniques in other ways suggested in class I had not combined them in such a way that I would be applying them to canvas. A great way to take something old and look at it in a new light.
I'll be using these techniques  again in the future for sure with my own twist:)

Now for those of you looking for a dog I leave you with one of  my furry treasures! Doesn't Nikki look like he has had enough heat, I think so!

Looking forward for a nice cool crisp Fall for sure with more creative energy and back to my Studying Under The Masters classes.
Until then stay cool my blogging friends and I hope you stop by soon as it seems everyone has migrated to Facebook and left blogging by the wayside, I guess we can thank Google for that, oh well this is what they call progress............................... need I say more

"Once Upon A Time"

I just finished a Journal page for a Prompt over at Roses in our Journal Journey.
For Inspiration I used a Cookie Jar and after creating a likeness of the Cookie jar I took it a step further, always trying something new,  I'm now more than ever... obsessed with creating faces. I don't have much drawing experience at all as I did "Major in Motherhood" don't you know.........
Always some thing new to learn but I'm making progress not perfection and not afraid to put myself out there you will see the good, bad and the ugly, lol after all to everyone else in my life I'm just Grammie...
I titled Her   "Once Upon A time"     From This To That, Here and There and Everywhere That's me

Finished Under the Wire

Yay, I finished my February CQ 2015 block for the Crazy Quilting Journal Project 2015:)  I actually had it finished a few days ago but hadn't taken the time to take a pic, so here it is with  my Mucha print on fabric and now I'm caught up with my blocks!
Meanwhile I have been working on some more Journaling pages and will share those later in the coming week as many are still WIPs.
I would like to give my friend Janet at Janet's Art Play  a big shout out for sending me some much needed colors towards this years project of my Mucha CQ project. I hope you can visit her blog as she is a very talented artist and good friend of mine.
Thanks again Janet and much love:)XOXO

Art Journaling and Doing What You Love

Before I begin anymore projects I thought I would share with you my latest page in one of my Art Journals:)  I have been working on Faces and jump around in what I love to do, ummm..  like sketch, paint, put together mixed media projects, crazy quilt blocks, book making and journaling. Faces is my latest favorite so I'll continue to play and hopefully improve.
I just finished my 2nd block for my Mucha CQ project and now I will be getting back to my journals, playing catch up you could say and will share that block later in the week.
Have a great creative week all!

Playing Catch Up Again

I just wanted to share my 1st CQ block for for 2015 for the CQ 2015 Journal Project, and I'm running a bit behind, ha.. as usual and hope to work on and finish my 2nd block before months end.  I plan on using these blocks in a Fabric journal or as a Fabric journal cover as in the case of this one.  This has a Mucha print that has been printed onto fabric and then appliqued on. Once attached to a larger piece of Fabric I think it will come together nicely. I have changed things on it a zillion times trying to find just the right embellishments, I find I haven't enough supplies in these colors, must go hunting before long if I'm completing 11 more:)
Meanwhile Im working in 4 to 5 Art Journals, 4 at the moment for various projects and as usual have too many irons in the fire. At least I don't get bored and will need 3-4 lifetimes to finish them all. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods:) Happy Creating!

Playing With the Birds Here!

I was having fun creating birds this past week so I tried out my hand at drawing and painting this Peacock named "Feathery Eyes" for a Journal page of mine over at the Journal Group at  Roses On My Table.  I finally gave up on getting a feather to look the way I wanted so I had a paper napkin in my stash with the Peacock feather on it so I collaged it in and "wala" I was pleased with the result:)
