TIPS FOR TUESDAY "TAKING TIME TO THANK "BARB" from A STARS in BARB'S EYES

WONDERFUL and CREATIVE HALLOWEEN ART!  http://thestarsinbarbseyes.blogspot.com/                                A Big Hug and  Thank You to this artist who was one of my first followers and still follows me even though I'm not in full gear yet. I was helping a neighbor with a yard sale and a bunch of spice tins were left at the end of the day so I purchased them all for 50 cents as I knew who could put them to good use. Well I sent them off last week and late yesterday I opened my mail and here was this great pumpkin spice fellow. Thanks so much, I never expected anything in return but Barb is like that, so giving! Click on the link to her blog and you can see where to purchase her art. What a special lady! I love this little folk guy and I think Barb is very clever, don't you! Thanks so much Barb!!

PINK SATURDAYS and SPIRITUAL SUNDAY "A SPECIAL CHILD" DEDICATED TO ALL MOTHERS OF SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN to INSPIRE ANOTHER MIRACLE MAKEOVER http://luluslovlies.blogspot.com/

SHARING SOME PINK in a WIRE TEACUP ARRANGEMENT, ALL OTHER PINKS ARE FROM THE HEART. THIS IS A SHARED STORY OF A PURPOSE FILLED LIFE FULL of  PINK LOVE and HAPPINESS

GRANDMA ALWAYS SAID "A SMILE IS A FROWN TURNED UPSIDE DOWN"  I"M SMILING 'CAUSE I HAVE A PUPPY. ALL THE PHOTOS ARE ABOUT ME THIS WEEKEND EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE MANY  PHOTOS WITH MY BROTHERS and SISTER, WE HOPE MY STORY WILL HELP WITH ANOTHER "MIRACLE MAKEOVER" LIKE COLETTE'S and SOMEONE ELSE WILL HAVE SOME HAPPINESS TOO!

"MY SURGERY" THEY TRIED IT DIDN"T WORK, WELL IT DID FOR A FEW MORE YEARS, I GOT MY WHEEL CHAIR WHEN I WAS 9 YEARS OLD, WHY? BECAUSE I FELL DOWN TOO MUCH and SPENT TOO MUCH TIME GETTING MY HEAD STITCHED UP and then I FELL AND BROKE MY TOOTH so THAT WAS THE END OF MY WALKING CAREER

I WAS A CUB SCOUT, MY DAD USED TO CARRY ME ON HIS SHOULDERS! I WAS 13 YEARS OLD WHEN MY DAD WENT TO HEAVEN, MY MOM THINKS HE IS IN HER HEART! I KNOW HE IS IN HEAVEN, I KNOW I WILL SEE HIM ONE DAY AS MOM SAYS ALL SPECIAL PEOPLE GO TO HEAVEN and I"M "SPECIAL"

I LOVE TO FISH, I CAUGHT MANY!  DAD ALWAYS TOOK ME!  ONCE WE WENT TO THE PARK TO FISH WHEN I WAS IN MY NEW WHEEL CHAIR and I WAS SO EXCITED WHEN I CAUGHT a BIG ONE THAT MY CHAIR and I ROLLED DOWN THE EMBANKMENT.... I WAS FINE and a MESS, MY MOM and DAD DIDN'T THINK IT WAS FUNNY, but I WAS STILL LAUGHING! WE STILL WENT FISHING AGAIN!

I PRESENTED THE CHECK TO JACK BENNY 1971 and I WAS 3 YEARS OLD, I GUESS I WAS KIND OF A MOVIE STAR! MOM and DAD THOUGHT I WAS!

MOM and DAD WERE PROUD,   I HAD TO WALK A LONG WAY! THIS WAS HELD ON THE 4th of JULY 1971 SPONSORED by THE LONG BEACH FIREFIGHTERS for CHARITY  THEY HAD A GREAT SHOW. HOBO KELLY  and THE FOUR FRESHMAN WERE THERE, I GUESS I WAS A MOVIE STAR AFTER ALL!

I WAS ALWAYS SMILING
WE  WENT CAMPING A LOT

This is dedicated to all Mothers and Grandmothers of  "Special Needs Children"  I am and always will be a Mother of a Special Needs child, he now is an adult and I still have him in my care and will as long as I am able.  I'm also a Grandmother  of a Grandchild with Special  Needs .  I was given this from a newspaper article written by "Erma Bombeck " when I was about 25 years old.  I received this  from another Mother of a Special Needs child  and had no idea of the road ahead of me and that certainly was a good thing.   As it has turned out my son is a  "Gift" and Blessing and provides  purpose to my life.        Most women become Mothers by  accident, some by choice, a few by social
pressures and a couple by habit, following in the steps of their own
Mothers. This year nearly 100,000 women will become Mothers of
"Special Needs" children. Did you ever wonder how Mothers of Special
Needs children are chosen? Somehow I visualize God hovering over earth
selecting His instruments for propagation with great care and
deliberation. As He observes, He instructs His Angels to make notes in a
giant ledger. Armstrong, Beth, son, Patron Saint Matthew.  Forrest,
Marjorie, daughter, Patron Saint Cecilia. Rutledge, Carrie, twins,
Patron...... Give her Gerard. "He's used to profanity." Finally, He passes a
name to an Angel and smiles, "Give her a" Special Needs" child." The
Angel is curious, "Why this one, God? She's so happy." "Exactly," smiles
God. Could I give a"Special Needs" child to a Mother who does not know
laughter? That would be cruel. "But has she patience?"asks the Angel. I
don't want her to have too much patience or she will drown in a sea of self
pity and despair. Once the shock and resentment wears off, she'll handle
it. "I watched her today. She has that feeling of self and independence that
is so rare and so necessary in a Mother. You see, the child I'm going to
give her has his own world. She has to make it live in her world and that's
not going to be easy." "But, Lord, I don't think she even believes in you."
God smiles, "No matter, I can fix that. This one is perfect. She has enough
selfishness." The Angel gasps, "Selfishness? Is that a virtue?" God nods, "If
she can't separate herself from this child occasionally, she'll never survive.
Yes, here is a woman whom I will bless with a child that is less than
perfect. She doesn't realize it yet, but she is to be envied. She will never
take for granted a "spoken word." She will never consider a "step"
ordinary. When her child says "Momma" for the first time she will be
present at a miracle and know it! When she describes a tree or a sunset to
her blind child, she will see it as few people ever see my creations. I will permit her to see clearly the things I see.... Ignorance, cruelty, prejudice....
and allow her to rise above them. She will never be alone. I will be at her
side every minute of every day of her life because she is doing my work as
surely as she is here by my side." "And what about her Patron Saint?" asks the Angel, his pen poised in mid-air. God smiles, A mirror will suffice.
MY MOM, MY LIFE, KEEP SMILING, I AM!  I'M 43 YEARS OLD WITH 3 SIBLINGS, I WAS CHILD #2  I HAVE 1 SISTER and 2 BROTHERS.  I THINK MY MOM IS AN ANGEL and SHE THINKS I"M HER PURPOSE? MY LIFE IS GOOD, HELP CHANGE A LIFE , I HAVE MY MOM and SOME HAVE NO ONE! THIS IS OUR STORY  "PLAY IT FORWARD"  PS. RED and WHITE MAKE PINK!!!

FUN FRIDAYS

BABY QUILT CLOSE UP VIEW  BOTTOM SECTION

BABY QUILT CLOSE UP VIEW TOP SECTION

BABY QUILT OVERALL VIEW FOR  GIFT
Fun Friday for me has been a very busy one as I still have this baby quilt to put the backing on, I think I'll use white chenille. There isn't much time for posting as I still must get ready for Beverly's Pink Saturday. Just to sum it up I have been on a waiting list to have a small case within an Antique and Collectible Mall and was notified earlier this week. Whoo-hoo, I'm excited but it just added to the list of one more thing to get accomplished. I managed to put a few things in as the owner doesn't want an empty case as it doesn't look good for business, so I managed to get a start on it with items spread out and in place. Some years back I had case, (larger than this one) which evolved into a space and a large case within the space. I had forgotten just how time consuming this can be when I started pricing items and packing, loading, unloading and then displaying. I'm now content to have a small case and keep it at that as I don't have the energy level I had 10 years back and want to also have creating time left over! Still to finish is this baby quilt for a baby shower on Sunday, so off and running and I'll see you all for Beverly's Pink Saturday with some great Pinks!! Have a Fun filled Friday evening!! Mine is sewing!

TIPS for TUESDAY

Easy eyeglass protection...To prevent the screws in eyeglasses from loosening, apply a small drop of clear nail polish to the threads before tightening them, then after they are tightened apply a small drop to the bottom of the screw to keep intact, this works great though many may already know this information it is still a great tip and reminder. Have a great Tuesday!!

Welcome to Pink Saturdays hosted by Beverly of "How Sweet the Sound Is". Click the Pink Saturday post on my sidebar to visit with all the other Pink participants or http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/pink-saturday/   I began this Pink Saturday Post as a continuous piece from last Saturdays Pink Saturday post so you could see my Granddaughter in her "Fancy Nancy" dress that I made for her. She wore it to the fair and since the weather was warm it was perfect timing. Next I included some Sewing items from my Sewing room and some lovely Pink roses from my garden for our enjoyment as the season is almost over for mine. I hope to have some lovely creations to post by summers end, including some Pinks. The holiday season will be upon us before we know it so I really need to get back to doing what I love most and that is creating.  It seems these days I spend quite a bit of time blogging which I love but I need to spend a little less time on perfecting my blogging skills and more on my skills of creating items "From my Heart to My Hands". I hope to be showcasing more on Heartful Creations, Etsy and Ebay! Happy Pink Saturday!

TIPS for TUESDAY

Quaker Oats... We have all heard that Quaker Oats is Heart healthy but for pain relief? Umm, Well in my list of handy dandy tips they are listed as a pain reliever, now I haven't tried this but not only are they good for breakfast or those wonderful oatmeal cookies, it is said that if you mix 2 cups of Quaker Oats and a cup of water in a bowl and warm in the microwave for a minute, cool slightly, then apply the mixture to your hands or any other arthritis ache you will have soothing relief from your arthritis pain. Sounds messy but interesting. If you try it and find it works let me know! Any one brave enough? maybe when we have cooler weather! ha-ha
