HAPPY PINK SATURDAY PEEPS!

Happy Pink Saturday all of you Pink Peeps and more. I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day and a great week. I thought I would share with you some fun Pinks that I created quite awhile ago. This is an acrylic scrapbook that is created with rub ons, inks, papers and ribbons. It was a challenge workshop a few years back when crops and scrapbook stores were everywhere, now in my area they are all out of business. I have plenty of supplies from those years and and enjoyed the time put in and the friendships made along the way. It was my Friday night thing to do for about 3 or 4 years. This was one of the projects created during that time. I still have to print some black and white pic's of the Grandkids and put in it. This is on my To Do List with many others. Don't forget to go by and visit all the Pink party participants at Beverly's How Sweet the Sound, have a great weekend!

Marilou, I am so sad to say you are so right. Mom & Pops and small retailers are gone. No more specialty beads or papers. Oh well thankfully we have Michaels etc. & the net.

Hi Marilou! Your scrapbook project is really cool. It is so well-designed and I love the colors. I'm a scrapbooking fan too. We used to have wonderful places to shop here, but ours have gone away too. Now, we have to rely on the big chains, or online scrap shops. Thanks for stopping by to visit! Hugs, Terri

So sad..I loved my scrapbooking store and had great times there..the owner had been working too much and was having the mom guilt, and went out of business to be more active with her children and their school. Wonder women we can't be! I love your pages...keep scrapping and creating..

How lovely. And what fun family memories! My kids are great at scrapbooking. I'm better at easy crafts for the grand kids and the seniors (me :) ) who help them. Lots of fun both ways! :) Have a lovely week.

Your book is adorable! Almost all the small scrapbook stores are gone in my area too but I'm lucky enough to live near a city that has several chain stores with supplies. I'm loving all your old photos. Your mom and dad were so dapper!! Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a wonderful Pink Saturday!

I love this little book! My husband took me to Michael's craft store and bought me a TON of scrapbooking things for Mothers Day! I've been having fun creating things all week! If you are having trouble finding a place to buy materials, look into the company Close To My Heart. It is a home party company but you can also order from a consultant online and have things shipped right to you. If you'd like me to send a link to my consultant (who won't bug you with personal calls or emails unless you want to...she's my best friend and she's shy! :) just let me know... It can be hard to find good quality stuff. Your project reminds me of a lot of the stuff they have on their site and I really like the idea of being able to order it myself without having to go to a party or go through a consultant as I'm sort of a homebody and don't like the pressure...Ha! :) Have a lovely day...as usual, you've inspired me---I always enjoy reading your blog!

This book may have been made years ago, but it's perfect and very beautiful. I love the textures and the colors of the papers. You did a wonderful job and I would think this would be a keepsake. I know what you mean about so many great business's going by the way of the road. It's so sad and hopefully they will return even better than before. Happy Pink Saturday, Char

Oh my gosh, what a gorgeous job you did with this beautiful creation. I love the color combination, and the pages look SO fun.

I just picked up a little book today to create with. I can't wait to get it started and find myself along the way. You have SO inspired me.

Thank you for the sweet share. It is always so much fun to pop by and see what you are up to. Hope you have a glorious Sunday sweet one. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

Hi Marilou,

That scrapbook is really pretty. It's such a shame about all the small businesses that have gone under and still are...this economy of ours has got to turn around. I feel like we are losing the foundation of our country when I see the average person that used to have success with their business and now they are gone.

I know it costs much more to produce goods in the USA...of course it does... because we have such a higher quality of living then China and a lot of other countries. We need to bring HOME all the production so our people can find jobs and we can enjoy the prosperity and pride of not so long ago.

I have a Scrapbook Superstore here in Sevierville. I had never seen one before moving here and then I found out there are only 3 o 4 locations in the USA. It'll make your head spin when you walk in...it soooo big!

Pink Sparkles for your week,
Stephanie Suzanne ♥
