YEP! IT'S OFFICIAL! I'M NOW A SORORITY SISTER of "THE BLOGGERETTE SORORITY"

My Rush project is finally finished and "I'm Official" as a new member of the sisterhood of the "Bloggerette Sorority". The project was fun and I tried to create something that I would be keeping, so I now have A Family Keepsake Box instead of a letter box. This was originally a wooden letter writing box that my Mothers brother made for my Mom one year for her birthday. The top is slanted downward to make it easy to write letters on your lap. I thought I would make it a great Keepsake Box and plan to place a treasure in it for each of my Grandchildren to have one day. My photo (just pretend I'm holding it as we were to include a self portrait) is on the inside lid and the Bloggerette Sorority photo is on the outside. The ruffle is a strip of fabric left from my almost 50 year old wedding dress that my Mom saved in a little Hallmark card box along with some of the lace, which I used as a backround for the flower. I added some Prima paper flowers, vintage buttons, and some wired pearls as embellishments to accent the scrapbook paper from my paper collection. All the paper has been coated with Mod Podge to seal it. The only item purchased for this project was the handle from Ace hardware as I didn't have anything to fit. Needless to say I have many materials on hand. Hope you all like the finished result! The original box is shown at the bottom of the pic's so you could see what I started with. I'm sure I'll have lots of fun with this group of gals! I would like to thank "Karen" from Somedays Are Diamonds for taking the time in her busy schedule let me show my Rush Project and join the Sisterhood. Thanks again Karen!! You are the Best!

The Box Before the big makeover, my only dilemma was ?? Should I add Feet so it raises it up now that it isn't used for letter writing?? What do ya Sisters think?? It will still be slightly slanted. Ummm..???

GASP! It's beautiful! Oh You did a WONDERFUL job.
I vote yes with the feet. Having just done a box, it's nice to just get it up, plus it'll protect your furniture from scratching.
I love this . . . no you have me thinking . . .
GREAT JOB!
HAGD! Karen

Your project turned out just beautifully!

On the footed or not question, I'd go with feet that gave it a tilt. Started to say, if you're going to use the top of the box as a desk, but actually, tilting the box would just let the art show more, so either way...
