SOME SWEET PINK and A SCARY SPOOKTACULAR SHOW

Today I'm featuring Jill from Say It with Roses , she has a wonderful blog and tell her I sent you to visit and say Hi, Happy Halloween Jill. She is one of my newest followers and I love getting new followers as it gets us closer to that 300 Follower milestone for my "Four Seasons Giveaway". Have a wonderful weekend all of you and I hope this post isn't too spooky! I did add a little pink! These were taken at my neighbors house last year and they have always had a very haunting theme that would scare the beejeezus out of all the kids in the block, my older ones, the Boys, always loved it but the younger ones would stay clear. They are the "Best Neighbors and Friends" ever and love a good Haunt! The theme varied from year to year and last year was a  "Pandemonium Side Show". The young man in the front is my son that lives with me. He loves to get all dressed up spooky!  Don't forget to visit all the other Pink participants at Beverly's  How Sweet the Sound . PEARLS and LACE THURSDAY PARTY "PIECES OF THE PAST"

I'm joining Doni  today of Faith, Grace and Crafts for the last PEARLS and LACE THURSDAY PARTY ,  don't forget to visit the other party participants and thank Doni for hosting a lovely blog party!  I have today an antique green velvet jewelry box that was given to me by the dear lady across the street and she is over 85 years old. It was her Mothers so I would say for sure it is over 110 years old. The raised flowers are plush velvet and the rest is very short velvet. It still has its key and a tassel which I think makes it really rare. It is one of my favorite treasures as I know both the ladies that lovingly cared for it. I have it pictured with an old silver mirror I have had forever, some pearls and a pearl picture fame. Next to it is an old storybook doll along with a jar of pearls I use for projects, many very old and not strung anymore.

PINK SATURDAY with PINK ROSES and HONEYMOON PINK!

Happy Pink Saturday all of you Pinkies! Today I'm posting a couple of my Favorite Pinks in roses, as I love roses on china the best! On the right side is a 12 inch lamp that was purchased on our Honeymoon when I was the sweet young age of 19 years old, and now the lamp is 49 years old! We purchased it as a keepsake in a little gift shop on Catalina Island while we were honeymooning for a week as it matched some of our new China we received as wedding gifts. Back in 1961 that was all the honeymoon we could afford and went with very little spending money "happy as clams"! The plate on the left I found in the Goodwill and it is a great match don't you think? Just like we were!  The pic was taken in the 25 cent photo booth and we got 4 pic's for a quarter! What a deal, these are the only pic's that were taken that week as we didn't have a camera and couldn't afford one, you would think we would think "can we afford to get married"?  We were carefree and "in love"we didn't have a care in the world! "Ain't Love Grand",  it was for us! We were married 20 years! Even if the pic isn't Pink, we did purchase some Pink that week! Don't forget to visit Beverly of How Sweet the Sound for the other Pinkettes to visit!

WALTER KNOTT and his BRIDE CORDELIA PART 2 FREE IMAGES

WALTER and CORDELIA KNOTT
CARD FROM RIGHT SIDE OF PHOTO
This is an enlarged version of the  photo and the card from the right side so you can read the information on the card with the photo. Apparently this was taken on their Wedding Day. How cool is that! I was afraid it would be too blurry to read but it isn't so have fun, this are Free Images for the taking, to go with the previous post.

FREE IMAGE of WALTER and CORDELIA KNOTT

I took this photo at Knottsberry Farm in the hallway of the Chicken House Restaurant. It does need some photo editing but you are free to do that if you would like to right click it and save it. I has a glare as it was in a frame and the line was long and narrow so I had to shoot it at an odd angle when we were waiting in line for our dinner hence the glare and reflections. I thought it would be fun to have to use in a collage or something and all you bloggers might enjoy it. So feel free to grab it. Maybe you can create something fun!

PEARLS and LACE THURSDAY PARTY

Welcome to Pearls and Lace Thursday  hosted by Doni of Faith, Grace and Crafts! I have a Pearl picture frame with a photo of My Mom from the 1920's in it. The photos is one I came across when digging for old photos and it is very faded. I need to make a copy before it is entirely gone! Next to that  is a small taffeta lace and pearl pillow made for me by a dear friend years ago. Above top left is a hand crocheted collar with seed pearl leaves and above that is a pearl bracelet and clip-on earrings from the 1950's as is the rope pearl necklace that can also be tied around ones waist if you a very slender, if not there are many variations for around the neck. Don't forget to stop the Pearls and Lace Party to celebrate her 100th post Giveaway Party and visit the other participants.

PINK SATURDAYS "REMEMBER ME"

Please stop by to visit the other party participants at Beverly's  PINK SATURDAYS    "Celebrating a Life Well Lived". Today I'm remembering my Best Friend Fay who lost her fight to ovarian cancer 11 years ago this month, she was 55 years young and full of life. She put up a fight, always a smile on her face! She was my very "Best Friend" for over 25 years. She is always Missed and Never Forgotten. Next to her is a picture of her First Grandchild, her namesake who is now 7 years old.( she has a 2 yr. old Grandson also) Funny how life is, her Granddaughter that she never saw was named after her and was born on the same day as she was. Who would think they would share the same birthday? The Pink pillow was made by Fay and given to me one year for my birthday, see the "Remember Me" on the pillow, another of those things that one ponders, when I was given the pillow it was years  before she ever was diagnosed with this dreadful disease. Fay always made me something special for every holiday as I did for her. My Friend lived 1/2 a block down the street from me where her grandchildren now reside, in the same house where all the fun began. All those treasures that I have will be tucked away with stories of the fun we had when we were young and will be given to her Granddaughter, her namesake. "One day", until then I will enjoy them and the memories they evoke, so I do "REMEMBER".

PEARLS and LACE THURSDAY PARTY

Joining up with Doni for Pearls and Lace Thursday 100th Post Giveaway  Party this week. Stop by and visit all the other party participants and give a big thank you to our host Doni for having a party to celebrate her 100th Post Giveaway! Today I have an antique pin cushion trimmed with some pearls and my Mom's pearl clutch that she she carried in the 1930's, what a treasure to have to be sure! Gosh I miss my Mom, she went to join the Angels in Heaven in 1988 and it doesn't seem that long ago. Another special gift is a Mother of Pearl necklace given to me for my 65th birthday by my daughters Mother-in-law and I wore it to my 50th Year class reunion this past July. The pearl bracelet is one I wore when I was young and the others are pearls that I have worn and enjoyed throughout the years. I hope you enjoyed your visit and will return for more.

YEP! IT'S OFFICIAL! I'M NOW A SORORITY SISTER of "THE BLOGGERETTE SORORITY"

My Rush project is finally finished and "I'm Official" as a new member of the sisterhood of the "Bloggerette Sorority". The project was fun and I tried to create something that I would be keeping, so I now have A Family Keepsake Box instead of a letter box. This was originally a wooden letter writing box that my Mothers brother made for my Mom one year for her birthday. The top is slanted downward to make it easy to write letters on your lap. I thought I would make it a great Keepsake Box and plan to place a treasure in it for each of my Grandchildren to have one day. My photo (just pretend I'm holding it as we were to include a self portrait) is on the inside lid and the Bloggerette Sorority photo is on the outside. The ruffle is a strip of fabric left from my almost 50 year old wedding dress that my Mom saved in a little Hallmark card box along with some of the lace, which I used as a backround for the flower. I added some Prima paper flowers, vintage buttons, and some wired pearls as embellishments to accent the scrapbook paper from my paper collection. All the paper has been coated with Mod Podge to seal it. The only item purchased for this project was the handle from Ace hardware as I didn't have anything to fit. Needless to say I have many materials on hand. Hope you all like the finished result! The original box is shown at the bottom of the pic's so you could see what I started with. I'm sure I'll have lots of fun with this group of gals! I would like to thank "Karen" from Somedays Are Diamonds for taking the time in her busy schedule let me show my Rush Project and join the Sisterhood. Thanks again Karen!! You are the Best!

The Box Before the big makeover, my only dilemma was ?? Should I add Feet so it raises it up now that it isn't used for letter writing?? What do ya Sisters think?? It will still be slightly slanted. Ummm..???
