PINK SATURDAYS "REMEMBER ME"

Please stop by to visit the other party participants at Beverly's  PINK SATURDAYS    "Celebrating a Life Well Lived". Today I'm remembering my Best Friend Fay who lost her fight to ovarian cancer 11 years ago this month, she was 55 years young and full of life. She put up a fight, always a smile on her face! She was my very "Best Friend" for over 25 years. She is always Missed and Never Forgotten. Next to her is a picture of her First Grandchild, her namesake who is now 7 years old.( she has a 2 yr. old Grandson also) Funny how life is, her Granddaughter that she never saw was named after her and was born on the same day as she was. Who would think they would share the same birthday? The Pink pillow was made by Fay and given to me one year for my birthday, see the "Remember Me" on the pillow, another of those things that one ponders, when I was given the pillow it was years  before she ever was diagnosed with this dreadful disease. Fay always made me something special for every holiday as I did for her. My Friend lived 1/2 a block down the street from me where her grandchildren now reside, in the same house where all the fun began. All those treasures that I have will be tucked away with stories of the fun we had when we were young and will be given to her Granddaughter, her namesake. "One day", until then I will enjoy them and the memories they evoke, so I do "REMEMBER".

Marilou,Bless your heart. You certain had a tremendous loss! What a magvificent tribute to your dear friend of 25 years. I am so thrilled you shared your friendship with her in written form.
I want to answer your question about the acorns. I gathered a whole bunch when I was in the mountians recently. I also found garland and large pinecones in gift shops locally. I have a huge crush on acorns, so my eye always seems to find them.
Happy PS, and thanks again for sharing.

What a special gift that she was born on the very same day. That's so wonderful, it's great to have people we are close to, they make life more special. I'm sure Fay is happy and smiling and thinking about all the memories you both shared.

Happy Pink Saturday, hope you're having a lovely day!

What a lovely tribute to your friend fay. Unfortunately I think we all have lost someone dear to us to cancer. I pray we find a cause and a cure in our lifetime for all the girls that will be following us.
